Being a contributor not a consumer.
We go to give to God our time, and to those who are also in the body encouragement.
The Holy Bibles meaning not the dictionary.
Being a member, a vital, warm organ of a body, working together, helping function, sharpening each other. Not a cold piece of flesh, taking up a seat, joining an institution, paying dues, following rules, learning a hand shake.
Romans 12:4-5 For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.
1 Corinthians 6:15 Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never!
1 Corinthians 12:12-27 Unity and Diversity in the Body
Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many. Now if the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. If they were all one part, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, but one body. The eye cannot say to the hand, “I don’t need you!” And the head cannot say to the feet, “I don’t need you!” On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, and the parts that we think are less honorable we treat with special honor. And the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty, 24 while our presentable parts need no special treatment. But God has put the body together, giving greater honor to the parts that lacked it,so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it. Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.
The image is scanned from a very old Holy Bible. I put these up when I can, this one is from the same as I have posted about in earlier blogs. Please go back and see the other images.
I believe we areall Saints Ido not think Paul is any more special than you or I. In the Scripture above it talks about us being connected and part of something bigger. The eye alone can not tell the eyelid it is weaker or less important.. The finger can not tell the nail I can be without you… How would the finger scratch? As well the hand tell the finger you are weak…How would it pick things up. Paul is no stronger than you and I. We need to know and trust and believe that the weak are the strong and we need to be a work in progress together. We are a body under construction and we need to work out go to Church which is our Gym. Because we go out into the field to harvest, and need to have all our muscles working!!!
