When I was looking for a cheese alternative. I saw all those posts and recipes calling for cashews, almonds, aquafaba… I have hazelnuts by the bag. Hmmm…. Ok So I took and turned a cashew recipe into this. I had major tweaking to do with nutritional yeast and addition of coconut oils. I did it in a Nutribullet Rx I would do a regular food processor next time. Here is my recipe. Let me know how you like it and if you try it.
Hazelnut spread
1-1/2 Cups soaked hazelnuts
(soak overnight)
2 Tbsp lemon juice
4 Tbsp nutritional yeast
2 -3 Tbsp coconut oil
Salt and pepper to taste
That’s it pulse in a food processor until smooth
I put mine in Ziploc baggies and now I can squeeze it on to celery or lettuce wraps.
