Birds, blooms, and butterflies

Well just birds for this shout out to God.
Matthew 13:4 And as he sowed some fell by the wayside; and the birds came and devoured them.
Last week I went to the produce market and I saw a can of Espresso. It was so cheap I could not pass it up. Even though I have a Keurig Machine. I still make Cuban coffee for my brother. Welp I got it home and opened up the can… Darn the seal was broken I can not use it. I do not know if it had been tampered with. I put it aside to sprinkle I my compost. ( funny side note how my yard smells of brewing coffee now.) That same day I bought the coffee I also got several bags of bird seeds. all different kinds. I only have the one feeder (well that I regularly fill) So I put the wild mix in it. Then thought oh man I need to make a feeder. So I went to my to see about making one out of a soda bottle. I did and it came out just as pictured. But lots of seed was wasted falling out the holes. Then I remembered. When I first moved in here I had gotten a feeder and put it high on a pole. My morning glories grew up and covered it the seed got moldy. And it was all the way up a pole. Fast forward 6 years… I busted out the ladder climbed the pole and got it down of course nothing was left in it and it was no worse from the hurricane. But the metal bottom was rusted out and the lid covering the seed was gone.

I just stepped back and thought ok what do I have to fix it. Looked down and saw a dime… (Side note again… I used to always find pennies and thank my God my Father for reminding me of my dad in heaven who collected pennies. Now I am always finding dimes and not so much pennies. ) So… I went in to say, ” husband, look God sent me a dime, in our backyard” And forgot why I went in the house. But I saw the espresso can and got excited, because it was perfect size metal for the bottom hole. Which has a sort of lip. And the Plastic lid fit the plastic tube that holds the seed nice and snug.

All set, hanging, and ready for the birds!
I put it in a tree where I can reach it to fill it… I put some great black oil sunflower seeds… so if you know any towhee … Heeheehee send them my way. That is just one kind of bird that likes them.
Welp, I started this with the scripture because God knew I would need those parts to fix that feeder and the price was cheap so no problem. I was going to use the scripture if He, God takes care of the birds how much more you and I. But Those things that fall to the wayside… Just like you and I He can and does use each thing that happens for the good, to those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. My mind flitters about sometimes. But I have to say I praised God with my whole life yesterday, now to just keep that momentum going and continue in praise of God every second of every day for the rest of my life.
Sometimes we hear things people say, “God did _ _ __ for me today.” and it is easy to over look… Like really Doreen… God didn’t do that you did. But those things… if they cause you to see God in them… those feeling of being alone, unloved… They don’t happen if you are focused on God being with you, knowing your needs, and supplying them. It gives you a peace, joy, and comfort. It will put a song in your heart. I love you lord, and I lift my voice, to worship you, oh my soul rejoice , take joy my king, in what you hear, may it be a sweet, sweet, sound in your ears!!!

At the top of the pole… I put a solar light!!!
Please leave a comment or just a like would be nice.

Fill U Up Energy/Protien Pucks

Hey there, I know I talked about the Fill U Up Pucks back in November. I hope you signed up for emails to be told when I post things. If not now is a great time to do that. Over in the right hand sidebar. Ok Well Here is what they look like.
The top layer here is the ones I put Greens+ in and the bottom ones are the ones without. I use those for the husband because he does not like green stuff. Ok next up was the ingredients.
Ok and now for the proportions. Which you can play with for things you like and omit stuff you do not. Just by adding cinnamon you get such a change. Change is good, it breaks up the day after day routines we get stuck in sometimes.
So here is a basic mixture. I split in half or in fours and add different stuff for a little pep in my life. Hahaha! Yes sometimes seasoning or flavorings can do that for me. It is nice to have things hum drum.
1 3/4 C. Dates
1/4 C. Water
1 Tbsp.+ 1 tsp. Coconut oil
1/4 C. nut butter ( Tahini, sunflower, almond, cashew.)
1 C. Almonds
1 C. Mixed Seeds
( I use 1/3 each Sunflower, Pumpkin, & Hemp. But, I have also added 1/3 C of a mix i make half & half Chia + Flax seed, Pine nuts or Sesame seeds)
1/3 C. Coconut flakes
I blend each thing separately until it is course chopped, like other store bought ones.
Depends on how much chewing you want to do.
After each thing is chopped I pour it in a bowl.
The last thing processed because it is sticky and messy I do the dates, water and coconut oil. Add them to the bowl of nuts and seeds, and then mix.
Form into pucks and layer with wax paper.
I store them in snack size bags in the frig. About 6 or 8 to a bag.
Makes about 32 pucks 1 1/2″ round
I carry snack bags of them in my purse for those times. To avoid junk food in check out lines and fast food joints. They last for a month or so.
Hey be sure to leave a comment. If you make them let me know that too. Listen if you do not comment or like I don’t know you came. Kinda sad right… I am praying for you right now and if you are starting a lifestyle change you succeed. No diet ever works, you are loved just the way you are by a mighty God and me. Have a great New Years Weekend and Be healthy this year to come In Jesus Holy Name!!!

Tiger’s/Dragon’s Blood Icee

Ingredients for Dragons/Tigers blood popsicles

Hey, How’s it going? I have been trying to eat clean. Over the summer I found an Italian ice that RaceTrac sold and really liked it. Well the sugar was really high and the process well who really knows how they made it. The picture that they had to explain it … A slice of watermelon. a strawberry, and I seem to recall a lime or coconut maybe both. So off I went to recreate the taste I liked so well.
I added fresh stevia from my garden which I had dried and powdered.  I poured it into Popsicle form and froze. Now I can have my treat (and it is healthy as well as yummy) any time I want it.

To eat it watching this sunset… Who could ask for more!!!

Picture perfect day. Thank You god for loving me so much and blessing me more than I deserve.
Also a side note to this the watermelon rind (with outer skin removed, if it is waxed and to reduce chemical consumption if not organic) is great to put through the juicer. Much like a cucumber with way more vitamin content… Take a look at what doctors say…

Watermelon contains more of the antioxidant lycopene than fresh tomatoes; one cup of watermelon has 1.5 times the lycopene as a raw tomato

L-citrulline, an amino acid in watermelon, seems to protect against muscle pain

Watermelon rind is edible and actually contains more of the amino acid citrulline than the pink flesh; citrulline is converted to arginine in your kidneys, which is important for heart and immune system health

New research showed citrulline and arginine supplements derived from watermelon extract lead to significant improvements in blood pressure and cardiac stress in obese study participants

Watermelon contains cucurbitacin E, or tripterpenoid, which blocks the activity of the pain and inflammation-causing enzyme cyclooxygenase — the same enzyme blocked by COX-2 inhibitor drugs

I went through at least one a week all summer boy am I gonna miss them til they are in season. Although I have a plant started in the yard. I have noticed it is getting harder all the time to find them with seeds still. GRRRRRRR GMO’s Well, I can’t fix the world I guess I will just keep trying my best and wait upon the Lord!!!

My Lean Green Low Sugar Juice

Low Sugar Mean Green

Low Sugar Mean Green Or Lean Green Juice
1 Green Apple
2 Carrots
1 Cucumber
6 sprigs of mint
1 knob of turmeric
1″ of Ginger
6″ off a head of Celery
3-4 lg Collard leaves
3-4 Beet leaves or Swiss Chard
I put them through my Breville Juicer and it is so delish.
You could put it through any juicer same results Low sugar Lean Greens drink.
My hind sight noticed there was no lime in my ingredient list and when I made it I remembered the same… Which is why it is a good thing I buy limes in a large quanity at the produce market and juice them all at once. Once they are juiced you pour it into ice cube trays,  when frozen pop out, and put in gallon size ziplock bag… because it is the greatest thing to always have on hand.  Great to put in water first thing down in the morning. I do this with many things when I can get them cheap at the produce market. Not only does going to the produce market save me money but I get a 3.5 mile walk, a coc frio(coconut cold), and The way home I have added eights in my backpack. Well thanks for checking me out. .♡ • .◄°))))►◄◄°))))►◄ ¯ `•.¸¸.◄°))))►◄??GOD’S GRACE, PEACE, LIGHT, AND LOVE ✞ ✞ ✞ I wont know you came if you do not comment or like this.

Buckwheat Groats Veggie Patties

Hi there,
I am happy you came back to see the recipe. I did start the pattie yesterday. Having been sick with some kind of bad cold bug, I could not finish it in one day as usual. That is a key part in making of the patties, all the ingredients should be cooled before mixing. I made the groats with 2 cups water one cup groats (just like most grains). I sauteed the veggies, and refrigerated both, once done. That was yesterday. Today I just mixed it together , formed the patties, and baked. Oh, I also added grill marks for the purpose of show. You would hardly know these were not meat. Once you put your toppings on it even the texture was perfect. I eat them bunless because the groats are enough starch I believe. For me and for being Alkaline that works. Oh and no egg in this one so it is a alkaline dream!!!

So here is the recipe…
1 1/2 C Buckwheat groats cooked and cooled ( use stock as liquid instead of water)
Diced Onion 2/3 C
Diced Green & Red pepper combined to make 2/3C,
Finely minced Garlic 2 or more Tbsp
Diced Mushroom 2/3 C (but not if making alkaline)
Parsley, Real salt, and pepper to taste
Eggplant, Zucchini, Summer squash, Ect. You get the picture, lots can be added.
3 Tbsp of flax, chia, and hemp seeds Ground (I do this in a coffee mill I use for herbs and seed) to replace egg. I do not add water
Saute the veggies in about 2 Tbsp olive oil. Remember you are not browning or cooking to mush, this takes very little time.
Once cooled combine the groats with the veggies and add the ground seeds.
Form the mixture into patties and place on a baking pan coated with olive oil.
(I spray the top side with olive oil as well)
Then do the grill marks using a skewer dipped in Kitchen bouquet.
When you flip you can do the second side!
Bake at 425* for 10 minutes on each side.

I hope you enjoy these. I had one for lunch, they are filling. YUMMY! Let me know what you think. It is always nice to hear from you. If you don’t comment or like I never know you even came. I am thankful to be able to share with you.

Goro cookies

Not leaving out Jesus and remembering Christmas’ before things got so complex.
I am selling a press to make these on Ebay. I found this recipe for the cookies and wanted to share it. Just a great Holiday tradition and those are so important to many people this time of year. So few people cook Norwegian goro “crackers” nowadays that they can become a signature gift for cooks who take the time to bake them for friends and teachers during the holidays. They are sort of a cross between a cookie, a cracker, and a waffle – not too sweet, and quite possibly the most beautiful of all Scandinavian baked goods.

3 eggs
1 cup sugar
1 Tbsp. vanilla sugar (or 1 tsp. vanilla)
1 cup whipped cream, whipped to firm peaks
1 cup butter, melted
1 Tbsp. brandy or cognac (optional)
6 to 7 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. freshly ground cardamom
1/2 tsp. cinnamon (optional)
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 30 minutes

Trace a rectangular pattern the same size as your goro iron onto parchment or other paper; cut out. Spray goro iron lightly with cooking spray and heat, closed, over medium-high burner until a drop of water sizzles on the surface when opened.

Beat together three eggs, sugar, and vanilla sugar (or vanilla). Fold in whipped cream and melted butter. Stir in cognac, if using. Sift together 6 cups of flour, cardamom and cinnamon, then mix into batter. Add additional flour, if needed, until dough is very firm (it should be about the consistency of pizza dough).

Separate the dough into thirds, and roll each portion out on a floured surface to a 1/8″ thickness. Place paper pattern on dough and cut squares the size of your goro iron.

Transfer each dough square to the goro iron, close iron, and cook the first side for 3-4 minutes, pressing the iron’s handle together lightly to impress pattern upon the cracker (Note: keep a wet towel on hand to immediately wipe up any butter than leaks from the press). Flip iron and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, until both sides of cracker are golden brown.

Transfer cracker to rack to cool; while still warm, cut into the individual sections and trim off outside edges (if desired). Repeat process with remaining dough (rerolling scraps as necessary).

Freeze or store in an airtight container.

Yield: Approx. 48 goro cookies.
