Fill U Up Energy/Protien Pucks

Hey there, I know I talked about the Fill U Up Pucks back in November. I hope you signed up for emails to be told when I post things. If not now is a great time to do that. Over in the right hand sidebar. Ok Well Here is what they look like.

The top layer here is the ones I put Greens+ in and the bottom ones are the ones without. I use those for the husband because he does not like green stuff. Ok next up was the ingredients.

Ok and now for the proportions. Which you can play with for things you like and omit stuff you do not. Just by adding cinnamon you get such a change. Change is good, it breaks up the day after day routines we get stuck in sometimes.
So here is a basic mixture. I split in half or in fours and add different stuff for a little pep in my life. Hahaha! Yes sometimes seasoning or flavorings can do that for me. It is nice to have things hum drum.
Ingredients:
1 3/4 C. Dates
1/4 C. Water
1 Tbsp.+ 1 tsp. Coconut oil
1/4 C. nut butter ( Tahini, sunflower, almond, cashew.)
1 C. Almonds
1 C. Mixed Seeds
( I use 1/3 each Sunflower, Pumpkin, & Hemp. But, I have also added 1/3 C of a mix i make half & half Chia + Flax seed, Pine nuts or Sesame seeds)
1/3 C. Coconut flakes
I blend each thing separately until it is course chopped, like other store bought ones.
Depends on how much chewing you want to do.
After each thing is chopped I pour it in a bowl.
The last thing processed because it is sticky and messy I do the dates, water and coconut oil. Add them to the bowl of nuts and seeds, and then mix.
Form into pucks and layer with wax paper.
I store them in snack size bags in the frig. About 6 or 8 to a bag.
Makes about 32 pucks 1 1/2″ round
I carry snack bags of them in my purse for those times. To avoid junk food in check out lines and fast food joints. They last for a month or so.

Ingredients for Dragons/Tigers blood popsicles

Hey, How’s it going? I have been trying to eat clean. Over the summer I found an Italian ice that RaceTrac sold and really liked it. Well the sugar was really high and the process well who really knows how they made it. The picture that they had to explain it … A slice of watermelon. a strawberry, and I seem to recall a lime or coconut maybe both. So off I went to recreate the taste I liked so well.

I added fresh stevia from my garden which I had dried and powdered.  I poured it into Popsicle form and froze. Now I can have my treat (and it is healthy as well as yummy) any time I want it.

Also a side note to this the watermelon rind (with outer skin removed, if it is waxed and to reduce chemical consumption if not organic) is great to put through the juicer. Much like a cucumber with way more vitamin content… Take a look at what doctors say…

I went through at least one a week all summer boy am I gonna miss them til they are in season. Although I have a plant started in the yard. I have noticed it is getting harder all the time to find them with seeds still. GRRRRRRR GMO’s Well, I can’t fix the world I guess I will just keep trying my best and wait upon the Lord!!!

Low Sugar Mean Green

Low Sugar Mean Green Or Lean Green Juice
1 Green Apple
2 Carrots
1 Cucumber
6 sprigs of mint
1 knob of turmeric
1″ of Ginger
6″ off a head of Celery
3-4 lg Collard leaves
3-4 Beet leaves or Swiss Chard
I put them through my Breville Juicer and it is so delish.
You could put it through any juicer same results Low sugar Lean Greens drink.
My hind sight noticed there was no lime in my ingredient list and when I made it I remembered the same… Which is why it is a good thing I buy limes in a large quanity at the produce market and juice them all at once. Once they are juiced you pour it into ice cube trays,  when frozen pop out, and put in gallon size ziplock bag… because it is the greatest thing to always have on hand.  Great to put in water first thing down in the morning. I do this with many things when I can get them cheap at the produce market. Not only does going to the produce market save me money but I get a 3.5 mile walk, a coc frio(coconut cold), and The way home I have added eights in my backpack. Buckwheat Groats Veggie Patties

Hi there,
I am happy you came back to see the recipe. I did start the pattie yesterday. Having been sick with some kind of bad cold bug, I could not finish it in one day as usual. That is a key part in making of the patties, all the ingredients should be cooled before mixing. I made the groats with 2 cups water one cup groats (just like most grains). I sauteed the veggies, and refrigerated both, once done. That was yesterday. Today I just mixed it together , formed the patties, and baked. Oh, I also added grill marks for the purpose of show. You would hardly know these were not meat. Once you put your toppings on it even the texture was perfect. I eat them bunless because the groats are enough starch I believe. For me and for being Alkaline that works. Oh and no egg in this one so it is a alkaline dream!!!

So here is the recipe…
1 1/2 C Buckwheat groats cooked and cooled ( use stock as liquid instead of water)
Diced Onion 2/3 C
Diced Green & Red pepper combined to make 2/3C,
Finely minced Garlic 2 or more Tbsp
Diced Mushroom 2/3 C (but not if making alkaline)
Parsley, Real salt, and pepper to taste
Eggplant, Zucchini, Summer squash, Ect. You get the picture, lots can be added.
3 Tbsp of flax, chia, and hemp seeds Ground (I do this in a coffee mill I use for herbs and seed) to replace egg. I do not add water
Saute the veggies in about 2 Tbsp olive oil. Remember you are not browning or cooking to mush, this takes very little time.
Once cooled combine the groats with the veggies and add the ground seeds.
Form the mixture into patties and place on a baking pan coated with olive oil.
(I spray the top side with olive oil as well)
Then do the grill marks using a skewer dipped in Kitchen bouquet.
When you flip you can do the second side!
Bake at 425* for 10 minutes on each side.

1 large avocado, peeled and pitted
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 lemons, juiced
1/2 cup chopped seeded cucumber
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes, or to taste
1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro
1 tablespoon chopped fresh mint
salt and pepper to taste
In a medium bowl, combine the avocado, garlic, lemon juice, and cucumber. Mash with a fork until smooth.( If your avocado is not quite ripe enough, you may wish to use a food processor.) Season with red pepper flakes, cilantro, mint, salt and pepper, and mix well. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour before serving.

I will for the sake of argument call my soup this. Pictured I added beef, For dinner I had it with fish and another time with chicken. Now I can tell you originally I made this with mushroom as the substance (meat) of the dish.
Ingredients
1 tblsp coconut oil to saute
onion celery carrot  cabbage about 1/2 cup each
1 tblsp garlic minced
1 tblsp ginger minced
2 tsp cayenne pepper
16 oz vegetable stock
1/2 C coconut milk
Simmer for 10 minutes or til ready to eat. I have been hungry and eaten it as soon as it was done as well as had it left over good from start to finish and so many options as far as what you can add for substance.  Dry Shitake mushrooms soaked in wine, chicken, beef, shrimp, fish, even just shredded coconut.
I am learning new things every day from my newest Jamaican friend. Today I learned about how to make coconut oil. Be looking for that in up coming blog updates.

That is my gym bus and Marly out talking to Bombo.  I have posted about Bombo’s stand before. Yesterday he was out of Coconuts so we got smoothies. Now here is the great part… Bombo  is Jamaican, and instead of spinach which I usually use, he put in Callaloo, which is Amaranth. WOW, I just heard some great stuff about this vegetable the day before. The seed is a great substitute for rice. The nutrition and minerals are 4X that of broccoli. It is great for anemia. Bombo grows it fresh there behind the stand. He uses all the trimmings from the produce of the smoothies as compost and he brought his plants from Jamaica.  What a great guy he gave me a seed head. Bombo is a knowledge bank of his produce. He shared with us some of the benefits of the things he put in our drink. Google search watermelon white part nutrition it is good for you.
