For the heads
I am the Angel tree coordinator for my Church. I used to be a Wiccan… So needless to say I do not use Santa Claus or Christmas trees for my ministry or the party. I go with the Nativity and a huge Angel tree. I keep my theme winter with snowflakes, white,blue, silver and gold. Here is a few pictures from last year…
As you can see from the pictures it was a wintery Jesus ‘ Birthday!!! I had borrowed the lighted Nativity set from a friend. This year I thought I need one…Costco had one for $500… um not in my budget. So I am making my own. With paper mache and a few other gathered things. I got wigs for Joseph and Mary from my sisters costumes, as well as an old luau straw skirt for the Precious Baby Jesus to lay in. I am going to buy a baby boy from the dollar store and swaddle Him. I am going to try and make the heads lighted. So I am going to show you the steps to make the heads.
I used 1 cup of flour, 1cup of white glue and 1/2 c water for the paste.
I ripped strips of white packing paper about an inch wide.(of course some were thicker some thinner some tapered)
Then i dipped the paper strips in the paste mixture, took of the excess against the side of the bowl and started pasting them on the balloon overlapping them.
Here it is almost done.
Now I wait for it to dry…
I promise I will let you know how long it takes and post pictures asap!!! I am excited!!!
